tkgate ...


Hi ,
i am new to this forum ... previously i used an other forum .. any way !

i am trying to install tkgate and i already did successfully ... but after typing $tkgate &
i get

tkgate: error while loading shared libraries: libtk8.4.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
can any body explain this for me ...?!

Short answer: It means that it cannot find that file.

You don't say HOW you installed tkgate. If it is in the Mandriva repositories, then you should install using the package manager---that will take care of the dependencies.

(It is in the Mepis/Ubuntu repositories)

yes i know i even searched it ,but didn't find any thing ..!

i downloaded it from the tkgate home page and compiled the sources ...
and that because i did not find it in the mandriva software manager ..!

Google search shows that RPMs are widely available for that library

Does Mandriva have any alternate repositories that you can enable

not that wide ... i found some source rpm but neither of them i was successfully able to downlaod ...!

i tried also to search the missing file ... so i found this libtk8.4-8.4.14-1mdv2007.1.i586.rpm
but that did not help ..!

this driving me mad ,i remember that i downloaded it in mandriva 2006 easily .!

i don't know about any mandriva repositories ..!
