tiny font problem
 

A friend gave me an old computer, so I decided to install linux on it.

Ive installed Slackware 10, I use this on my main machine and know it is fine.

The problem is when KDE starts the fonts are un-readably tiny, they look like "--- -- -".
Changing resolution didnt do anything.
After fiddling for ages with 75dpi and 100dpi, nothing still.

I then decided to try mandrake 10, KDE still the same, tiny fonts.

I tried Slax 4.2, still the same.

Now I've just tried knoppix, I can read again, everything is normal.

wtf is going on?


Im presuming it has something to do with X font server, but I dont know what.
