Thunderbird won't open!!! Running Xandros
Let me precursor this by saying I'm not great at working on computers, so the easier the explanation the better.
When I left work last night I closed it down. When I got in this morning, I clicked the icon to open thunderbird. The tab shows up in the bottom bar for about 20 seconds while it acts like it's booting up, but then disappears. I'm running a Linux machine. Xandros is the OS. Help! Thanks in advance. |
Open console. Type 'thunderbird' then enter. Post the output.....
|
kevin@CoreMediaLinux:~$ thunderbird
bash: thunderbird: command not found kevin@CoreMediaLinux:~$ I have no idea if I just did that right. I had to figure out what the console was first. Like I said, not a computer guy at all. Let me know. Thanks so much. |
Try "locate thunderbird" to find where it is.
It sounds like the thunderbird executable is not in your $PATH. Post the output of the above command, and we can help you fix the problem. Basically, you will need to place a link to thunderbird in your $PATH (the list of places Linux looks for places to execute a command). We will give you the correct command when you post the output of "locate thunderbird". I hope this helps --Ian |
