thunderbird: where are the email messages stored?

I had a problem with my mandrake linux 10.1 final so I had to format and reinstall. Before i did that, I was able to boot into windows XP, download a program that let me read linux partitions, and backed up all of my files on the root partition and home partition. To fix the problem of linux crasher and losing all of my data, I got VMware and run linux inside of it. I would like to retrieve my emails that I had gotten in thunderbird while using linux but don't know how to go about doing this. When I install thunderbird in linux none of the my old messages appears. Any suggestions on how to transfer my old emails over?

~/.thunderbird/default/69ovaayv.slt/Mail

should be in your home folder in there ... where it has 69ovaayv.slt it could
be some other random folder name on your machine .... there is a folder
per email account you set up in thunderbird ..

I just copied the whole ./thuderbird folder into my home directory. At first thunderbird wouldn't even try to load but after i installed libstdc or something like that, it let me open it and all of my important emails were there. Thanks so much for the help.
