Thunderbird - share diary

Hello

Firstly, does thunderbird have a diary plug in?

Secondly, can said diary be shared and edited by people across a network.

The reason I'm asking is because a client is wanting to share their outlook 2003 diary between multiple people, yet I believe taht the only thing which can do this is MS Exchange server, and they don't have the money for that.

Is there an alternative, or an OSS which would facilitate the sharing on Outlook 2003 diary?

Many thanks
Hamish

You can use mozilla calendar:
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/

If you set up a webdav server then you can publish and share calendars.
