Thumbs down Thunderbird problems

I am using thunderbird for a while and found it very cute.
Suddenly, all the filters and folders are invisible and the thunderbird crashes.
I cannot see the already read messages.
This is a complete disaster.
I am using thunderbird 1.5 pre beta
Please suggest me a better email client.
Thank you,

Don't use beta applications if your going to depend on them. Use the full stable releases as Thunderbird works flawlessly when I use it. Use beta if your going to test it out, report bugs, etc.
