Thunderbird on Linux cannot use a shared profile on a Windows box

I've been using a share on an XP box to share a profile with a second windows computer and a Linux computer. No problems before.

I reinstalled a new distro on my Linux box and attempted what I usually do with Mozilla: creating a new profile using the shared folder on my first XP box, mounted as a Samba Filesystem. This time, however, for the first time, after creating the profile, Thunderbird gives me an error message when I try to start it.

The error message is,
Quote:

Failed to execute default Mail Reader
Input/output error
The Thunderbird versions on the XP box and the Linux box are the same (2.0.012). The second Windows computer can still use the shared profile sitting on the first XP computer.

Please suggest what to look into. I've never had this problem before sharing a profile on Thunderbird between Windows and Linux.

OK, there was a problem with the Thunderbird binary that came with Zenwalk.
All I had to do is uninstall Thunderbird and then compile it from source. Ir worked great.

PROBLEM SOLVED.
