Thunderbird & new mail notifcation

Hi, I have just migrated to Thunderbird and am now using it as my default email client. I have one issue with it tho - there is no visible mail notification icon. I used evolution before and it would say when there was a new email. I am aware that there is an extension for Thunderbird (mozTraybiff) which is supposed to do what i want but it just does not work. Does anyone know of any other soulutions. Thanks.

steste, how come? Although it says: "whether to include a 'new messages' indicator", I have not found it in Options. mozTraybiff does not work for me either.

in the new message indicator just type what you want displayed when you get a new mail. Mine is simply ***NEW MAIL***

Typing NN will make it display the number of new emails e.g "NN New mails" will display 2 new mails if you get them.
