the partitions does not show as a device in SLES 9

Hi. I jus wanted to ask if why is it that i cannot see the extended partions is SLES 9.

-I have tried installing SUSE Linux professional 9.3 on my P4 PC and i was able to see the extended partition that I have created when I open up My Computer. But whys is it that I cannot view then in SLES 9, not unless I created the extended partition into a logical drive that's the time i can see the icon named "hard disk" under devices. Is it a must for me to create an extended partition to a logical one before i can see them? what if i have to created a lot of extended partitions?

Thank you very much.

An extended partition is not something you can mount. It is merely a container for other partitions.
