The linux software "simple backup" - how backup everything?

I need help from someone who knows the software package "simple backup".
Finally got around to learning it and it seems to be working very well. A couple of questions remain:

1. When in recovery mode is there a way of marking multible items for recovery or must recovery be done one item at a time?

2. Is there a way of backing up everything including the operating system? Would backing up Home Folder and File System do the trick? I'm concerned about my hard drive becoming inoperative. That happened to me a couple of decades ago and reloading everything by hand took a long, long time.

hi there,

there are some really good back up programs available by default (specially of you are using ubuntu)
1. with these tools (like time vault) in gnome there is a way to make incremental backups and even selective backups.
2. With clonezilla you can back up the entire computer.

Hope this helps.
