thanks but can be more clear about your answer because i am new to both ubuntu an koha
thanks
Although Ubuntu is derived from Debian, they are different distros and thus often have differing packages and versions thereof in their repositories.
Generally you should not mix repositories from different distros for this reason (although there are some exceptions where a distro is derived from a specific version of its parent e.g. Linux Mint 18.x and Ubuntu 16.04).
In fact, you shouldn't normally even mix repositories from different major versions of the same distro.
You need to find a version of Koha that is suitable for the version of Ubuntu that you are using. Either that means that you need to find a Koha deb package, repository or PPA that is specific to the Ubuntu version, or you need to install from source (or use a Koha binary installer if they supply one).
Thank so much for your prompt response. i really appreciate the time and detail explanation.
but after the installation of my ubuntu which is 15.0.4, all other installation for the koha was done online using the terminal. could that still be a problem to finding a compatible koha to work with my version of ubuntu?
Thank. i have done as you have said to install Ubuntu 16.04 and it installed fine but when i search for books form local host and koha on line, it always return
