Well folks I have a mandrake 10 official installation
and im attempting to run samba i was able to get the folders shared i needed and im able to see them on all my other computers
heres the problem when i go to access them it give me a login screen wich is expected. the problem is i cant login no matter what i do
what ive done is ive added about ten users with there on passwords
and associated them to 4 groups certain usrers to certain groups
i then used webmin to import the users

and then the folders im sharing i have allowed certain groups access

but i just cant login

please help

i mnew to Linux myself. and have had the problem you have had.

to fix it i made sure. that the samba shares were accessible by everyone.

Then set up the users in linux, that were set up in windows. This seemed to fix the problem.
