the checksum error when making CD's
Hi!
I am upgrading to Red Hat 8.0 from 7.0 and I have the image files on my hard drive now, (I downloaded them) and I have tried to burn the image file onto a blank CD. I have used a couple of different programs who say they can burn .iso image files onto a CD (which is what kind of files mine are). However, when I put the burned CD's into my PC, it tries to do a media check before the installation, and it says something about a not accounting for checksum, or something to that effect. What program can I use, and I want specific steps if possible, to burn an image file properly onto a CD for booting from the CD. I actually boot from a floppy, and then point it to the CD drive. Thanks much! Zeke :) |
Hi again...
I have just been looking around and saw that this is a repeat question, but I would like to know, from looking at the other question relating to RH8 installation, what files I do need on my installation CD. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Zeke |
You should have a few directories on your cds(RedHat, DosUtils, etc) and a few loose files as well. For help with iso's check out www.linuxiso.org

Ok, I'll try that and thanks so much for the advice!
