Hi AaronUFC!!!

I doubt it. However, there's a good text editor for Java, made also in Java, which works similar to TextPad. But you still have to tell the editor where you've installed sdk. It should not take more then 10s to do so:

http://drjava.sourceforge.net/

When you feel comfortable enough with Java, to design gui's and other stuff, netbeans is a great free product from Suns. It can be downloaded from Sun as bundled with sdk or not. If you choose the bundle version, it will also install and detect sdk for you.

Regards!

I love Netbeans it's great to design interface using Swing... But with your great argument full of wisdom and helping the poster a lot, I won't use Netbeans anymore... NOT
