Text editior that can "see"/open hiddien files/folders?? like .fluxbox
OK
what editors, as in GUI gtk, etc editors can see and open hidden files? I keep having to enter "leafpad /home/grml/.fluxbox/menu" cause leafpad, most editors, can't "see" the hidden fluxbox folder and can't go in it?? I am not asking for like nano or mc; I need a desktop gui app thanks |
Kate and Kwrite both have options to open hidden files. I would be surprised if--eg--gedit did not.
PS: You could always make links to hidden files/directories that you access frequently---eg: ln -s .fluxbox fluxbox |
Ah!
thanks Pix but, I am using fluxbox in grml medium, no gedit/kwrite etc can I get gedit without getting alot of gnome stuff? |
Do you have a dependency-checking package manager? Otherwise, the gnome site should show the dependencies---or maybe the Slackware database.
Yes, gedit requires "gnome stuff"---I just don't know how much. |
OK
GRML uses debian unstable, and others so I have full access to all deb repos:) I'm remastering it so I am chrooted in there via PMagic running from usb I already did apt-get update/upgrade etc, but need a text editor that can see the hidden files I'll try gedit... |
