Terminal "The Console"

Everytime I output alot of text on my terminal, it doesn't refresh properly and it displays some messed up ascii, anyone know how to fix that? I want to read man pages without any disruptions.

Are you in Xwindows? Using GNOME or KDE or some such? This might (I repeat 'might') be related to your LANG environment variable being set to UTF8.

Cheers--

you are correct, my language was en-CA-UTF8, switched it to en-CA or en-US and it was resolved.

type reset at the command line cleans up the terminal usually. Although not a resolution to your problem.
