Taskbar problem with Mandrake 9.2-10

I am using Mandrake 10 on my laptop and I came up with the following problem: I can't see any windows on the taskbar and when I minimise the windows they disappear (but the programs are still running). I had caused the x server previously to crash by selecting wrong icon theme but I created a new configuration file (by renaming the old one) for kde and everythging now is on default. Some times I had the same problem with 9.2 from the first time that I was running the OS!! Any ideas on how to fix the bug?

there's an option wich says: "do not show minimized windows on taskbar" somewhere... I guess this is turned on for you. not at my linux pc right now, can't tell you exactly where it is now, but it's somewhere in the "configure taskbar" options...

I have searched the contol center many times and the only similar to this I found is : "do not show windows that are currently open". The problem is that I can't see any windows on the taskbar even if they are open or closed.
Thanks for your reply! (That's fast!! I just posted one minute ago!)
