tar will not work with FC2 and new kernel source

Hello,
I am just wondering if anyone else has had trouble extracting things using the tar command. I type it in and it just sits there, even with the -v option. Then, if I try to extract it with File Roller, it gives me some junk about not being able to overwrite files, and it mentions the mv command. What am I doing wrong? Here is the command I am typing:

tar -xvj linux-2.6.6.tar.bz2

Again, it just sits there.
Thanks for any help offered!
E

Try:
tar -xvjf linux-2.6.6.tar.bz2

Cool! That works! So can I extract it to a different directory then it is in? Or what can I do to move it to /usr/src?
Thank you so much!
