Tape/Network backup solutions

Hi,

I'm trying to find a tape backup solution. My company are currently using Arkeia Light, but supporting this is becoming difficult (that and it is rather unreliable).

Has anyone got any suggestion as to a good Tape Backup program? It needs to work on Suse/Ubuntu (preferably both) and be easy to maintain. Im not a totaly Linux newbie but i'm by no means an expert, so any advice welcome.

Thanks, Kieran

You can try to upgrade Arkeia to the 'pro' version, and get more bells and whistles, or go with something like Backula.

However, IMHO, you get what you pay for. Managing backups for any growing enterprise is a full-time job, if you do it right. Spend the money on something robust. NetBackup or Tivoli Storage Manager is what I've used, but they are costly. Don't know how big your company is, though...

I'm after something in the small business range, 10 users and onwards really, how many users depends on the size of the data they create for us.

Thanks for your help guys, much appreciated.
