Taking GAIM out of startup

I just recently installed GAIM into my computer. I am using Debian 3.1 with GNOME. I have tried the sessions utility but it does not show up there. How can I get rid of GAIM from start up?

Hi,
Try killing gaim. "killall gaim" from the commandline should accomplish that. After that open the [Desktop--> Preferences-->Sessions] screen and check the "ask on logout" checkbox. Now select [Desktop-->Log Out]. You will be asked whether to save the current setup. Choose yes. Login again. Gaim should not showup now.

Another (simplest) option is to remove the line containing "Program=gaim" from the file .gnome2/session in your home directory.
