I'm looking for a tag editor for Linux. I'm not sure if you guys heard of this application, but when i was using Windows i used the freeware TagScanner.
These are some of its features which i like / use often:
- Rename files based on the tag information
- Advanced multiple files TAG editor
- Supports MP3, OGG, Musepack, Monkey’s Audio, FLAC, AAC, OptimFROG, SPEEX, WavePack files
- Supports ID3 1.0 / 1.1 / 2.2 / 2.3 / 2.4 tags, APE v1 and v2 tags, Vorbis Comments
- TAGs generation from folder/filename
- TAGs versions conversions
- Recursive subfolders support
Is there any tag editor in Linux that has such features? (Unfortunately TagScanner only ships for Windows, it would be very nice if it were to be ported over.) If not, what tag editors would you guys recommend?
There is a "musicman" konqueror browser addon tool that you may find usefull. It will also create web-page index pages were you can select and play your collection, as well as export SQL commands to add your songs to a database. http://freshmeat.net/projects/musicman/
You might also browse the sourceforge website for other projects.
