"System Monitor" and SMP (dual processors)

Hello,

Using Fedora Core 2 with an old Tyan IVD (i430HX ChipSet) mother board with 2 Pentium MMX processors.

When I run System Monitor it only shows a graph for CPU#1. Does it support Dual processors display?

I'm having a hard time identifing if both processors are used by the OS.

The Kernal log provides the following info:

CPU0: online
domain 0: span 01
groups: 01
domain 1: span 03
groups: 01 02
CPU1: online
domain 0: span 02
groups: 02
domain 1: span 03
groups: 02 01

However x86info provide the following info with a warning:

x86info v1.12b. Dave Jones 2001-2003
Feedback to <davej@redhat.com>.

Found 2 CPUs
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
CPU #1
/dev/cpu/0/cpuid: Permission denied
Family: 5 Model: 4 Stepping: 3 Type: 0 Brand: 0
CPU Model: Pentium MMX Original OEM
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
CPU #2
Family: 5 Model: 4 Stepping: 3 Type: 0 Brand: 0
CPU Model: Pentium MMX Original OEM
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
WARNING: Detected SMP, but unable to access cpuid driver.
Used Uniprocessor CPU routines. Results inaccurate.

So it's unclear if both processors are working. The system also seems to be a little sluggish .
Is there a way to get a realtime usage of both processors?

Thanks,

Patrick.

try top.

While running press <?> to see how to change to the smp view, don't remember now if it was the <L> key or <C> key (it shows statistics for each processor).

Seeing the kernel log I think two processors are ok and running.

bye.
