Question System Monitor (2.22.3): Processes: Status (explanations)

I've got used to hearing a resounding calm down-type reaction from posts like this, so I'm assuming I'll get more of the same...

Having seen many app's appear in the Processes tab and only noticing them as either Running or Sleeping; I was a little alarmed to find one ("manpath") with Zombie status earlier today...

It's not applicable to use any memory or CPU time, but has an ID of 4781...

Any takers?

I'm not going to tell you to calm down. I am going to tell you to read:

If you are serious about learning and using Linux/BSD/Unix (or any other system, for that matter) in any capacity other than hapless user, then you'll have to read. The above resources are a few which I've used, but there are many others available, including some damn fine actual books. Good luck.
