System Info / System Audit

I would like to replicate some of my linux and solaris servers so that the new replacement servers have nearly the same build as existing servers including software and configuration parameters except that the new servers, after they are built, would be required to slot in and replace the older servers with minimal downtime.

I was wondering I you know of any scripts which do this sort of thing and while I'm about it I may as was ask if you guys know of any replacement products for Tripwire, we would like to get away form the license fee for solaris.

Regards Roly

When the same servers (programs) will be used, it's just a matter of copying the configuration files. It's harder when you think about chcngeing the programs. In such case, you need to write the config files yourself, unfortunately.
