System freezes while running OpenGL applications
Hi,
When I run OpenGL applications like chromium, OpenGL Screensavrs, etc. for a considerable amount of time, the system freezes completely. The only way to come out of this is a hard-reboot. I do not understand where the problem lies(Hardware/Software). nVIDIA driver - 1.0-8756 VGA Card - nVIDIA GeFORCE MX 4000 64 MB RAM - 256 MB CPU - Intel Celeron 2.0 GHz Please Help Me. |
Using Slackware 10.2
I'm using Slackware 10.2 (if that might help). I have not upgraded any package except that I installed the latest nVIDIA divers.

When the system freezes, I also get a choppy repeated noise from my speakers. Can this be of any help for u guys??
|
In fact I found a few articles about this problem on the net, but, none of them gave a solution to it. Has anyone using this VGA car, successful in using OpenGL?
|
Is there no way I can fix this up?
|
Is there no solution for this. I heard that nVIDIA graphics cards provide the best compatibility with Linux systems. But I'm highly disappointed with this. I had spent $33.36 to get this new card.
I'm throughly disappointed please help. Has anyone been using this card on a Linux platform successfuly? Plz reply and help me. |
