You might be able to reboot and fix the problem.

If not, press Alt-Ctrl-F1 to get to a terminal window. Login at the prompt, and try "startx" to get into a GUI.

What's grceter?
I don't know, what is it for, but I think you can try to start it from the console to see error messages, than delete it's configs if you can't fix error, than reinstall it if not working anyway.

This looks like a fubared kdm / gdm / xdm setup. Meaning the login feature of whatever desktop you use is busted (whyever).

I suggest you boot with the install CD which will (at least SuSE does it) offer a rescue mode. Try to repair from that.

Do you start the rescue mode from hard disk (GRUB) or from CD?

thanks friends to be in touch and shearing your most valuable ideas............................
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
at the time of collecting error messages i found there isn't a single bite free in my hard disk(i mean in the specific partition(System Zone) of F7. i was not being able to pest anything. may system was not being able to write down login and other mandatory messages on hard disk. after freeing some space i solved this problem. now in my machine login function is working properly.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
any one can say me which files r generated at the time of login and other system actions, those i can remove (........old files) to free up my hard disk..........................?

==========================concern================= =================
may be some files(unauthorized) r automatically generating or coming in my machine and creating garbage................can any one guide me to prevent this or to give special security...................?

Your system creates logs. Check /var/log for excessive amounts of compressed and stored log files.

Not to be rude but, please type normally so it's readable for everyone. And it makes no sense i believe to delete log files, either resize your partition or remove unused files.

Do you mean me? What is it you can't read or understand?

As to deleting ... well, how long do you keep logs? I delete stuff older than a few months, but moving old logs to a less populated partition is certainly an alternative.

No i mean charm200.

Yes that's an good alternative but you won't gain much disk space from it i believe.
