Synaptic error

Here is the error "APT system reports:
E: Error while running transaction" It is odd and it does this for any program that I try to install. Thanks in advance.

assuming you are running debian, which version are you running? and are you sure the repositories are still active if an old version?

i've not used that OS, so i may not be able to help much. i'd suggest providing all of the output from apt-get as well as your issued command. also, which repositories are you using? source cd/dvd? online repos?

good luck!

cheers.
