Question Synapse not starting up automatically.

Hi.

Synapse is not starting up automatically. I tried both adding it manually and the Synapse option to 'Startup on login'. I'm using MATE. Is there a fix?

Thanks.

I will try without the "--startup" part.

I assume you've tried the default-key combo to bring it up. I forget what it is off the top of my head.

...and if that doesn't help, try launching it from the terminal, maybe you get some meaningful output.

Hi DO.

Yes, it's Ctrl+Space -- I left it as default because I also use Kupfer and use something else for that.

After dropping the "-- startup" part, Synapse loads at startup. It stays on the screen instead of not showing until hitting the hotkey but that's better than it not starting up at all at login.

The odd thing is now, the synapse window shows briefly at login but then the hotkey won't work -- I checked System Monitor and Synapse is not running. What the hell?

So both "synapse" and "synapse --startup" are no good.

Edit: Yesterday I unchecked and then rechecked synapse in the list of startup programs. Today it works again.
