Switching Distros
I am about to switch from Red Hat to Debian this week and I was wondering, besides backing up files if you guy have any tips to make the process easier?? I am still a newbie, and have only been running Red Hat for about 2 months, but I never liked its compiler and now that they are ditching the freebe support its time to kill it.

I set up a new partition and install the new distribution there. Then I dual boot during the period that the new distribution is unstable. After Debian becomes stable you can format the Red Hat partition and rearrange your disk space. Dual booting for a while makes installing a new distribution far less hectic because you are under no time pressure. ___________________________________ Be prepared.
