switch x getty consoles?

hi

i noticed that when i hit <ctrl><alt><f 1-12> then x windows switches consoles,
this is listed in my XF86Config. However, when i hit one of these, i goto
another console, but when i go back to the console that was running
X, its in text mode, and i cant figure out how to get back to the graphical
session.

thanks for any info
