Sweet Home 3d 2.1 bugs and java errors.

Hi, there. I recently installed (hope I did it right) Sweet Home 3d 2.1 via "installer" after downloading the compressed file from the original page.

Everything works normally in designing.
However, i) I cannot enter "Preferences" because the program crashes all of a sudden.
I can assume that 3d applications may not be enough functional, but is there anything I can do about it? Is it a driver or java problem?

ii) I cannot import new furniture. I download the .zip file (containing the furniture). I then import the new furniture in my library, but when I restart the program, the new furniture isn't in place. Seems like I've never downloaded anything.
