Arrow Swap space


hi!!! all,


Is swap space really required when i m using 512mb of
ram ..Does swap space really appends to RAM when RAM
runs out of space ...please explain..

In some cases you won't ever use it, but in others it is helpful to have. With 512 megs, I'd suggest at least a 100 meg swap space. You don't have to do the old thumb of rule to have a GB of swap if your using for normal desktop type use, etc.

512 should never be met however in the rare circumstance it is safer to have a little swap like as trickykid said.
