SVN and TortoiseSVN

I have correctly installed SNV on my linux machine and i am trying to configure tortoiseSVN client for windows so my collegues can reach the repository... and everything seems to go smoothly except when i try to add a file from tortoise...it says permission denied ... the thing is that i know that the users are in a group which have all the permissions to that folder... the exact error is the following:

cant create directory.........................db/transactions/0-1.txn
permission denied and all of the directories have permission of the group
