SuSe Wine Rack

Hi

long time no post on here since i built up a new system and installed doze for quickness, but yet again i find myself wanting to tinker with suse linux 9 - last time i did, i had no end of trouble installing things, but thats just because i dont know what im doing rather than the OS

anyway, as i say, im dying to have another go at it, the only thing that id want to keep windows for is the few games i play (Need for speed underground, call of duty etc) now i know linux overall isnt a massive gaming OS but ive seen on the SuSe site, SuSe winerack. it seems it can run windows games.

I was just wondering if anyone has any opinions on what this is like to use, and how well it runs these games (i.e do the games crash).

if its good, i may well find myself investing in a copy of this

cheers

Wine rack is simply a collection of the wine applications already on the market - Crossover Office, Crossover Plugin, and WineX - put together in a single package, so if you're wanting to run Windows games, there's really no better solution at the moment.....Wine rack is cheaper than purchasing the separate apps individually.
Another option, though, is just to get WineX, which is currently the best single product available for Windows games.

Winex is free, unless you want the very latest version. I have 3.0 and it does work very well with lots of games. I think you can even get the cvs version of the latest version free, but not the rpms or tarballs.

A search on Linuxquestions gives this website, too - http://www003.portalis.it/115/downloadwinex32.html
