Will the network installer for SuSe 9 or better allow the person to connect to the Internet via pppoe to install their OS? If not, what other network installable versions will allow a user to connect via pppoe? FreeBSD maybe?
I was thinking I could boot knoppix 3.3 and use their pppoe client, but then how would I start the SuSe install? I am accustomed to booting from the Linux cdrom and then running the installation cd. Could one use knoppix in such a way?
Well, I have a gimped way of doing what i want to do. I am just downloading the entire SuSe 9.0 directory tree to my WinXP partition and am going to install it from the hard drive, as that is one of the install options. I went home at lunch and started the SuSe 9 install and there is no option to configure or even use PPPoE at all. I hope it isn't more than 3 or 4 gigs of files. However if anyone has an answer about the Knoppix thing I'd love to know.
