Angry SUSE Crash

Help, help.
I have a Dell 4100 running w-me, 128 mg ram and a 40 gig H.D.
I installed Suse 7.3 without a hitch.
Disk repartitioned ok, and I use a floppy lilo.
It ran for a couple of days as I poked and prodded, didn't make any changes except to install Star office.
THEN, now I cant start it.
The boot process starts, a couple of pages of nix talk scrolls by and then (last 3 lines):

Fat: bogus logical sector size 5376
Fat: bogus logical sector size 5376
Kernel panic VFS; unable to mount root FS on 03:06

system hangs, lights flash on keyboard, cant do any 3 finger salute to restart, have to tickle the belly button to boot back to windows.

Any solutions other than re-install?

TIA gang

Neal Carrier
