Thanks for this thread guys, its been a goldmine!

I managed to upgrade my girlfriends SuSE9.0 install to kde3.2 after downloading everything needed from http://download.kde.org/download.php...SuSE/ix86/9.0/ . I also grabbed k3b 0.11.6 from packman here .

I then ran rpm -Fvh --nodeps *.rpm (after testing!) and had no problems. But just in case, I added:

ldconfig
then, SuSEconfig
and then a reboot with: shutdown -r now.

This I found (as noted above)
here (perfectisolation) .

ABSOLUTELY no problems so far. I wa expecting to have to delete existing .kde directories from her /home but no! All it needed was 2 icons updated.

Again, thankyou. That AMD k6-2 500 is a little nippier.
