Suse 9.1 Yast problem

Hi,
I'm running Suse 9.1 and have been very happy with it ... up till now.
Trying to run Yast I get the error message
"usr/lib/YaST2/bin/y2base: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/lib/YaST2/plugin/libpy2ag_hwprobe.so.2: undefined symbol: hd_busid_to_hwcfg"

All the correct files are in the path specified and I've tried reinstalling the Yast core package using "rpm -i --force yast2-core-2.9.94-1.3.i586.rpm"

I still get the error message. The files are binaries so I can't view them with less or anything. Also, if I've run yast remotely via an ssh connection the terminal gets completely screwed up after yast quits with the error message, and I have to re-ssh in.

Anyone have any ideas where to go from here? Any advice greatly appreciated :)
