SuSe 9.0 Kde 3.2.1 Src files.

Hello

Ok I wanna up date my Kde to 3.2.1 I have found the source files and want to recomplie them to install on my laptop.

Im downloading them from

http://ftp.us.kde.org/pub/kde/stable/3.2.1/SuSE/src/

Now i was talking to a friend last night and he suggested that I download the src files and re-compile them and install them.

But he said I would not need to download the biggest one, that is like 164 megs or so.

I wanna make sure of this before I go and try to install KDE

Also I wanna re-compile them for my laptop because I do not know what ix86 my cpu is. Ive running the Intel M 1.4

Could if someone tell me do I need that 164 meg file?
also
How would i re-compile all those files and re-install?

And if someone know what Ix86 my CPU is thanx

Why don't you use the binaries from SuSE

Hi there,
why don't you use the binaries, provided by SuSe

Go to SuSe.com --> Home users --> download --> KDE --> KDE for SuSE 8.2

Take care
