SuSe 7.1 Personal Edition will not recorinze hard drive during install

I'm currently having problems installing SuSe 7.1 Personal Edition onto a Compaq Proliant 800 server. The computer is old... the BIOS is dated 1996, processor 200 MHz Pentium Pro, 256 Kb Cach, 128 Mg of memory and 2 SCSI hard drives.

I can format the hard drives from a DOS bootup disk with no problems. Also I have Partition Magic 8.0 and have no problems with partitioning and or formatting the hard drives. One note: I can only access the BIOS through Compaq's "SmartStart and Support Software". I have tried F-2, Del, F-1 and F-10 keys during bootup and can't access the BIOS.

During install I get to the GUI portion of the screen stating " YaST2 inializing, checking system " this will go to 50% and then a message says " no hard drives detected "

One thing I noticed about this computer while in the BIOS I can only set the year to 1999. Are my CMOS battery's shot.

Any help welcome

Thank you :Pengy:
