Suse 10.0, Gnome, Netapplet Startup Problems

Hi,

after going through several Google and Y! pages, I could not find any similar problem to mine - probably because of the difficulty to describe it in a few words...

Anyway, here it is:

I use Suse 10.0, completely up-to-date (8/1/06) using "SuseWatcher", running Gnome on it. Since a few days, Netapplet won't connect to my wireless LAN on system startup, it cannot find it. I figured out how to "solve" this problem: it's obviously sufficient to click on Netapplet, choose "configure network settings" (--> YAST), choose my WLAN card, configure and then click continue, continue, continue... until the new configuration is written and KInternet restarted. Now the connectivity is 98%.

To repeat, I do not change anything while "configuring" the network. I suppose it has something to do with KInternet being restarted at the end, but I'm not familiar with the process going on when YAST writes and activates my configuration.

Talking about the network, it's an ASCII 10-letter encrypted one, password saved on my machine.

That's all I can say, can't think of anything relevant any more, if I'm wrong, please ask. Thank you.

Bastian

The problem still hasn't been solved. I figured the exact time when network starts to work. Right in the moment when YAST checks "Activate Network Services" in the checklist after configuring the WLAN-card.
Does anyone of you know the actual services which are started then? I think it might be, that these services don't get started at startup. This would explain why I have to do run the config wizard over and over.
