suphp

I have been looking all over and there doesnt seem to be a proper installation guide for this.

I have a:
RH9
httpd-2.0.52
php-4.3.8
suphp-0.5.2

Apache and php can run fine. But when i compile and try to install the suPHP module I get either a non php httpd server or a 500 error.

I have compiled apache and php(cgi) and added the lines to the httpd so I have tried all the basic things.

The problem is that when I add AddModule mod_suphp.c to httpd.conf I get errors and say its not a valid line and when i try to compile apache with the:
-add-module=/path/to/

configure: error: unrecognized option: --add-module=

Both of these were taken from the suPHP install pages.

suPHP Installationg with Apache 2, PHP 4.4

I have exactly the same problem... I've spent nearly a week trying to get suPHP working. Now it's just getting very frustrating! All the forums seem to include the 'AddModule' line in their instructions but I get the same error.
