Suggestions for a password manager embedded in firefox?
Hi, I am looking for a password manager that will auto fill different passwords at different sites when using firefox.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks |
one suggestions, try not to use these kinda of tools if possible, as there are possiblity of passwords getting hacked even if they are stored as "encrypted" by these tools!

Have you tried passwordmaker?

FF/Linux/Mac Password Manager/Form Fill - Lastpass
Check out lastpass - locally stored and encrypted on your machine, they have gotten a lot of good reviews lately - on lifehacker, ect...

I have generally come up with a list of about five passwords. The passwords I use are rated according to security needs. I have the simple password for a sites I figure I will never go to again. I only setup the account just to access a particular issue. I use the same password for all of those sites. Then I have the more difficult password for forums and such but easy to remember. And last, I have several the very difficult passwords with at least eight digits including upper and lower case letters, symbols, and numbers. These passwords are reserved for important sites such as bank and email. There are also password managers which are not embedded. I am sure they are more secure, but it is a hassle to open up the password manager every time you want retrieve or save a password. I found myself too lazy to use them on a regular consistent basis. So, yes I think probably the best compromise is to find a good secure embedded password manager. |

i do agree, the pain you are going thru for keeping note of hell of passwords, is just too much! one thing i would like to share with you, though you may not need it in the context we're talking about, but it might prove really really useful at some point of time, for some of the websites that i visit i dont feel like creating an account becaue theres no point in doing so, so i make use of "bugmenot"[this just gives you freely available logins and passwd as well, just google out to know more about it], and i already 've that plugin in firefox and i really like it , but i think some people may not like the very idea of using some kinda of "free logins", :-) |

I forgot all about bugmenot. I came across that web site some time ago and forgot all about it. Also, I was not aware that there was a plugin for it. It also saves a bunch of time. Instead of signing up and confirming I am who I am with a email address specifically setup for sites I really have no interest in going back a second time. okos |
