sudo read write on server
 

hi guys,

hate to ask this cause i thought i would figure this out easily with some reading and trying out all different options... but guess what.
trying to figure this out for about a week and no luck yet, and tomorrow this very simple thing has te be done, cause somebody needs this computer to work on..

here's what i need:

i need a user to have wite acces to a share on a server!!!

got everything mounted with samba, no issue's there.
i know its just a simple line in the etc/sudoers, but its giving me a huge headache, so if somebody knows..

I don't know what sudoers has got to do with
samba ... if you need the user (one specific user,
that is) to be able to write your share mount
the share with the users uid ... if it's more than
one user that should be able to mount maybe
make them all use a common windows user/password,
and then give them (that's where sudo would
actually come into the picture ;}) the power to
mount stuff that's NOT in fstab, and write a script
that mounts the shares with their respective UID ...

i already wondered why i couldn't find anything on google about it.... feel kinda stupid now.

you're absolutely right on this, and it made me look at the fstab again, guess what, just a simple spelling misstake did the trick, i wrote guid instead of uid. and i've been staring at this for a long time.
