sudden winex issues

Suddenly, winex no longer works for me. It goes,

% winex something.exe
wine: lstat /home/mirar/.winex-cvs/wineserver-orchid.mirar.org/socket : No such file or directory

removing the above directory, it goes

XIO: fatal IO error 0 (Success) on X server ":0.0"
after 172 requests (172 known processed) with 0 events remaining.

(where "172" varies).

I see other people has had these issues, but no real solution. There must be some, out there. Anyone got one for me?

I suspect WineX stopped working when I switched from the VESA to the nVidia graphics driver (along with switching from ATI to nVidia hardware), but there might be some other reason, like Gentoo upgrading winex when I wasn't looking too close.

You need to upgrade WineX to a version that supports NPTL, i suspect your glibc was upgraded without you noticing.

That might be it. But Gentoo's winex-cvs didn't do it, and it seems to grab the CVS tree. :-(
