Sudden and random shut-down

Hi everyone,

Not sure where to look for the solution of my problem or whether it's a software or hardware issue.

My laptop (Lenovo Thinkpad T400, Lubuntu 14.04.3 LTS) recently started suddenly switching-off, it's seems like I terminate a session.

How to check what's the problem? I don't know where to start.

Many thanks,
Podlsu

Pan64: Thank you.

I would never say that it's related to temperature, physically computer is cold. But I dug into the log, and found this:
Code:
Jan 6 11:34:59 lukas kernel: [ 66.328515] thermal thermal_zone1: critical temperature reached(100 C),shutting down
Jan 6 11:34:59 lukas kernel: [ 66.360532] thinkpad_acpi: THERMAL EMERGENCY: a sensor reports something is extremely hot!
Jan 6 11:34:59 lukas kernel: [ 66.366004] thinkpad_acpi: temperatures (Celsius): 87 50 35 N/A 25 N/A 25 N/A 40 49 48 N/A N/A N/A N/A N/A
Jan 6 11:34:59 lukas rsyslogd: [origin software="rsyslogd" swVersion="7.4.4" x-pid="889" x-info="http://www.rsyslog.com"] exiting on signal 15.
Need to check it twice and eventually will mark as a solved.

Many thanks pan64!

Such a silly thing, didn't expect that.

I've just cleaned it and according to psensor it's roughly 30 Centigrade less.

To install psensor

Quote:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:jfi/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install psensor

Cheers!
