successive runs of fsck show error

today wheni booted up my RHEL in runlevel 3, at login prompt it showed following error
Code:

swap_free : unused swap offset entry 00000004
i dont know how this is related to the actual querry, but after a couple of reboots, when it ran an fsck (due to bad shutdown), the scan used to reach near 90-95%(with 2-3 errors) and after a few messages, automatic reboot would start. on next reboot again it would ask for fsck. with a 'y' the same thing would repeat... again auto reboot. i tried to do manual fsck in rescue mode with
Code:

fsck.etx3 -fv /dev/hda9
it would show the similar errors.... something like
Quote:

inode ###: i_size 'xxx' has 'y' value, should be 'z'
after fixing the errors in PASS1, it would sometimes enter PASS1B and PASS1C, when it found duplicate blocks. well.... first time i fixed everything, and just to confirm if everthing is fixed, i gave the command again. now fsck.ext3 comes up with new (similar) errors. i repeated it for 4-5 times, evertime the same result... more errors. while being in PASS1B it would some time ask as to i would like to clone the specified duplicate inode... i would say 'yes'.

how do i come across this?

FIXED
i dont know how, but on next reboot (rescue mode), it did (manual) fsck only once. 2nd time (and subsequent times) it did not give any error. well, this time i scanned other ext3 drives before scanning hda9 (/ partition of RHEL). did that make the difference?
