Successful R 2.4 Build

For you Mandrake users, who also happen to be statisticians...
I successfully built R 2.4 from source last night on PCLinuxOS 0.93 "Big Daddy"

It was totally sweet: a totally liberating experience. This is my first time building something this huge from source.

Not a Mandrake user, but I am a statistician. I've done previous versions of R (2.2 and 2.3), but was really surprised when I managed to do CLFS, Xorg, and GNOME and it worked. Your turn! And when you do it, time all the configurations, makes, make checks, and make installs. We can pool our data then estimate the mean build time and std err...with R, of course!

Sounds like a fun project and I would do it if I was less dependent on this, our one computer. I'll have to save really messing with it until I have more Linux experience.
