su: permission denied
help! i have just installed gentoo, and so far it beats the hell out of mandrake. however. when i type in su (or su root, or su - root, or su into another user i created to test with):
# su Password: su: Permission denied Sorry. ??? it is sorry? i know i have the right password, because i can log in normally as root. i created the user with: # useradd my_name -m -G users, wheel, audio -s /bin/bash btw wat is the group wheel for? thanks |
read the gentoo forums, you need to add your user to the wheel group if I remember correctly, there's a ton of info on the gentoo forums about this.
