Unhappy Stuck at Grub2 prompt after deleting Linux partition of dual boot

I am a Linux neophyte (and mostly Mac guy). Two years ago, I got a home built PC pc to dual boot to XP and Red Hat linux running with grub2 interface to pick OS at startup. I wanted to remove the linux partition so used Partition Magic to reformat the Linux partition. I am now stuck at the Grub2 prompt (no nice graphical interface as before) on boot up without any apparent way of getting back to my windows partition and no clue on how to remedy this. Hope this is the correct forum for these types of dumb moves. Sorry if not and ANY help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Boot to a windows start disk and type the following at the command prompt.

fdisk /mbr

That will restore the Windows boot loader.

if you can't find your windows install disk and have access to a friend's computer you can put dos on a floppy (they are still useful!) to run the fix /mbr command. good luck. that is if you want to get rid of linux entirely. if not you can install another distro to that empty space and have the distro install it's boot loader to the mbr then configure it to get into your windows partition.

Talking

Pcghost and dr_zayus69- Much thanks for the help. Worked with a bit of finagling. Created a boot disk thru the format floppy option in winxp-pro but upon reboot in dos, the FDISK command returned a bad command response. So downloaded FDISK from FDISK121, loaded in onto the floppy, rebooted then navigated to the folder with the program to run the FDISK /MBR. Everything came up as you predicted.
Thanks again.
